A Lesson Before Dying Letter

Dear Grant

Hello my name is Edwin and your situation is one case never seen before. Your student is not himself. You must look at the situation from his point of view. He is a 21 year old male and was given the death penalty for a crime he was accused of. He has not seen life yet and his life will consist of nothing but a cell. Turning a boy into a man is not easy but can be done. He is acting like a hog only because someone called him a hog this shows his mind is easily influenced, so use reverse psychology. They broke him mentally but you can build him back up. Time is not on your side so a question to ask yourself is if I was him what would I want a teacher to teach me? Show him the love he lost for himself, show him the respect he lost for himself, and show him the outcome of becoming a man.

Review

The Great Gatsby is a story within a story showing readers the insight of the meaning of “new life”. The Great Gatsby is written by Francis Scott Fitzgerald and this novel was written in 1919. The genre of this novel is a romantic drama. The main characters are Jay Gatsby, Nick Carraway, Daisy Buchanan, Tom Buchanan, Jordan Baker. I like the back story about Jay Gatsby and his journey to wealth. I also liked the story behind Jay and Daisy, the romantic scandal gave a deeper feeling of the novel. If I would nominate an audience to read this I would choose high school students. I choose them because they’re young and this book Is full of “youngsters” living the time of their lives during the 1920s a time where the day was young and the night was a younger.

Day 13

Today is a day to celebrate and honor! I officially signed to Jacksonville State University amd cannot wait for fall. It took 5 hours to get there from Mobile but I feel it was worth it and the campus was beautiful and I fell in love with the robotics class and recreation center. I will be the first to go to a 4 year university and I am proud of myself. But this is not the end to tho journey of William Blake.

Day 15

Today was an okay day until band practice where reality hit me. Today was my last high school marching band practice. It seem just like yesterday it was my freshman year after homecoming week, i joined the band not knowing what to do, now I’m one the best chest tenors in the city!. I’m really going to miss this high school experience and the friendships and family bond I grew through band and I’m going out with a bang!
