Sorrow of War Blog Assignment

*Reflection

The Sorrow of War, showed me that war dose not only affects you physically, mentally, and emotionally, but also affects your love ones. Kein lost everything because of this war. Stress can break you down and show you no sympathy to you or your life. When fighting in a war, your life is no longer yours, your life belongs to the war. Movies do not show the full effect of war. They show the action, the blood being spilled effortless, and soldiers' bodies falling left and right. War is fought mentally and physically and after the war is fought you are still fighting a war. You are fight fighting a emotional and mental war within yourself.

 Review

The Sorrow of War, a novel about a Vietnamese soldier fighting against himself, his job, and his love ones. The Vietnam war effected him forever and the war was over but his war with himself will never be over. This novel is not only about war, but about the full affect of war. People still know little about this long tragic war, but this novel will open your eyes that not all people are evil and you never know what is on people minds. After reading this novel, you will never look at Vietnamese war veterans the same. Bao Ninh wrote this novel with a passion and to tell a story  and to show that war has more to it then you think. This tragic war did not only dismantle this soldiers, but dismantled Vietnam as a whole.

Review

The Great Gatsby is a story within a story showing readers the insight of the meaning of “new life”. The Great Gatsby is written by Francis Scott Fitzgerald and this novel was written in 1919. The genre of this novel is a romantic drama. The main characters are Jay Gatsby, Nick Carraway, Daisy Buchanan, Tom Buchanan, Jordan Baker. I like the back story about Jay Gatsby and his journey to wealth. I also liked the story behind Jay and Daisy, the romantic scandal gave a deeper feeling of the novel. If I would nominate an audience to read this I would choose high school students. I choose them because they’re young and this book Is full of “youngsters” living the time of their lives during the 1920s a time where the day was young and the night was a younger.

Day 13

Today is a day to celebrate and honor! I officially signed to Jacksonville State University amd cannot wait for fall. It took 5 hours to get there from Mobile but I feel it was worth it and the campus was beautiful and I fell in love with the robotics class and recreation center. I will be the first to go to a 4 year university and I am proud of myself. But this is not the end to tho journey of William Blake.

Day 15

Today was an okay day until band practice where reality hit me. Today was my last high school marching band practice. It seem just like yesterday it was my freshman year after homecoming week, i joined the band not knowing what to do, now I’m one the best chest tenors in the city!. I’m really going to miss this high school experience and the friendships and family bond I grew through band and I’m going out with a bang!
