         Roy being disobedient caused an  emotional  violence   in   the   story .  John   tries   to   stop   Roy   from   snea king   out   to   the   rockpile ,  but   Roy   is  younger ,  has   a   stronger   will   than   John   does . But Roy will caused him to get injured. This shows readers that some people just don't, and  will not listen. Roy was young, but he knew right from wrong. Roy had to evade many obstacles to get to the rockpile. First, John told him not to go, their mother stressed to them not to go to the rockpile, and he had his on state of mind, that should of said stop, but he did not listen and he had to suffer the consequences.        Throughout the "Lesson Before Dying Jefferson seemed unteachable. He did not communicate and isolated himself inside himself. The thought of Grant turning Jefferson into a man seemed impossible. But the tables turned and something special happened. It was unexpected and shocking, finally Jefferson is opening up and communicating with Grant and the family. Grant and Jefferson's friendship took off despite the reality that Jefferson is going to die soon.When Jefferson would talk to Grant it showed his true identity and what goes on in his head. Publishing Jefferson's diary towards the end gave readers a personal insight of Jefferson. It showed readers how Jefferson felt being locked in a cell. The diary also gave readers a personal connection with Jefferson.       As it gets closer Jefferson's date emotions came upon . Readers now have build a personal relation with Jefferson and have watch Jefferson grow and prosper...

Chapter 16: In this chapter Ms.Emma know Grant lied about what happened when he went to visit Jefferson. I agree with what Grant did, but also disagree with what he did. Yes, I agree tell her a lie to make her feel better, to up her spirit, but  I disagree because that lead to another lie which to another lie causing a little lie to turn into lie bomb ready to explode and reveal the truth. Grant is trying but it seem it is not going anywhere but the only person that knows that is him. Chapter 17: In this chapter Grant visits Jefferson, and this time Grant means business . I like the strategy Grant uses to open Jefferson's eyes. That all people must die but to not look at life in that way, but to live and love those who love you, not hurt them. I also liked how Grant went to visit  Jefferson  this task is hard and seems useless, but it shows that Grant did not give up on Jefferson, at least  not yet. Dear Grant Hello my name is Edwin and your situation is one case never seen before. Your student is not himself. You must look at the situation from his point of view. He is a 21 year old male and was given the death penalty for a crime he was accused of. He has not seen life yet and his life will consist of nothing but a cell. Turning a boy into a man is not easy but can be done. He is acting like a hog only because someone called him a hog this shows his mind is easily influenced, so use reverse psychology. They broke him mentally but you can build him back up. Time is not on your side so a question to ask yourself is if I was him what would I want a teacher to teach me? Show him the love he lost for himself, show him the respect he lost for himself, and show him the outcome of becoming a man.

*Reflection     The Sorrow of War, showed me that war dose not only affects you physically, mentally, and emotionally, but also affects your love ones. Kein lost everything because of this war. Stress can break you down and show you no sympathy to you or your life. When fighting in a war, your life is no longer yours, your life belongs to the war. Movies do not show the full effect of war. They show the action, the blood being spilled effortless, and soldiers' bodies falling left and right. War is fought mentally and physically and after the war is fought you are still fighting a war. You are fight fighting a emotional and mental war within yourself.   Review    The Sorrow of War, a novel about a Vietnamese soldier fighting against himself, his job, and his love ones.
